It was an honour to address the National Seminar on “Disability and Social Inclusion in India: A Roadmap for Change.” The gathering brought together distinguished academicians, policymakers, and social thinkers committed to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
Inclusion is not an act of charity — it is a matter of justice, dignity, and equal opportunity. As a nation aspiring toward holistic development, we must ensure that persons with disabilities are not merely beneficiaries of welfare, but active participants in shaping our collective future.
During my address, I emphasized the urgent need for: • Strengthening policy implementation at the grassroots level
* Enhancing accessibility in education, employment, and public infrastructure
* Promoting attitudinal change through awareness and community engagement
* Ensuring that inclusion becomes an integral part of governance and development planning
True progress is measured not by the growth of a few, but by the empowerment of all. Social inclusion must move beyond discourse and translate into measurable action.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the organizers, faculty members, and participants for fostering such meaningful dialogue. Let us continue working together to transform policy into practice and commitment into change.
Together, we can build an India where no one is left behind.
